The White House press corps get another coffee machine
Tom Hanks is a national treasure
You may recall a previous article, “The White House press room coffee machines,” chronicling Tom Hank’s generosity. The article was a welcome respite from the fresh hell of wading through the stultifying horrors of political ineptitude and malfeasance dominating the news cycle.
Politico’s intrepid West Wing Playbook reporters have found that the story continues…
After coming across our investigation, a Hanks representative reached out to the White House. The actor’s camp had no idea that the espresso machine had been such a source of anxiety for the press corps. Mortified that this had gone on for years without anyone speaking up, the Hanks team wanted to provide reporters with something they could actually use. Or perhaps, the movie-star just felt like trolling those entitled ingrates in the White House press corps. Whatever the reason, they told the White House they wanted to send the press corps a new, simpler coffee maker.
My appreciation for Hanks grows1 if for no other reason than him starring in one of the more enjoyable sequels to a behind-the-scenes story this season and the welcome diversion from the aforementioned horrors.
I commend “Tom Hanks, this coffee is too cheap!” to your attention and enjoyment.
the story of Hanx coffee is enjoyable in its own right
