Regular readers know that there is a section in Dispatches called Riding the Thunder dealing with conservation and outdoor recreation politics and policymaking. It doesn’t get nearly the attention it should because to do it right takes more time than I can give it.1
Fortunately, Wes Siler is not too busy to write about this stuff. Siler has a Substack newsletter, Wes Siler’s Newsletter, which I’m happy to recommend. He’s recently done some excellent pieces on the shenanigans in Washington.
Those readers who are interested in conservation and outdoor recreation politics and policy likely have information sources they turn to.2 You may want to add Siler to your list.
I’ll still try to offer some opinions when I can add value or a unique perspective.
If you want suggestions, let me know.
Thanks Tom!
