Tenkara is the bow to rod and reels' barrels and powder.
I go after panfish with Tenkara from a dock and breakwater so my dog can swim. Probably nothing I do is Tenkara "this way" or "that way" only. But I catch dozens of fish with it, on flies I've been learning to tie myself. Is that not simplicity at its finest?
I watched a fellow once as he filled a bucket with yellow perch with a Tenkara rod, snell hook and worms. I had to admire his simple approach--though I'm sure purists would be horrified.
I love this stuff.

I'm currently making my way through Discourses right now... I've been loving these.
Thanks Christian, glad you like them.
"I’ve regretted not going fishing more than I have regretted going."
I love this, and will probably borrow it from time to time.
Glad you enjoyed it. Feel free to use it at will.
Loved all of the philosophical quotes in here from some wise sages. Great read.
Many thanks. It's proven to be a enlightening exercise.
You touch on great and timeless stuff in this one, Tom. Great observations, well captured.
Thanks! This exercise is akin to fishing new water, what's around the bend is both enticing and intriguing.
