If you read about fly-fishing then you know of Phil Monahan. He’s a former guide, a freelance writer and was in the editor’s chair at American Angler magazine and the Orvis Fly Fishing blog. These days he’s the editor-in chief of MidCurrent. His bio reads in part:
Throughout my career, I’ve been lucky enough to do a lot of fly-fishing travel, both within the U.S. and abroad, but there’s nothing I love more than spending time on my home waters—the Battenkill, which is just minutes from my front door, and the myriad brook-trout streams that flow out of the Green Mountains. Although I’ve caught trophy fish of many species in some incredible destinations, in both fresh water and salt, I’ll always be a brook-trout guy.(emphasis added)1
He recently did an “ask me anything” (aka AMA) on the flyfishing subreddit.
Mohahan answered a variety of interesting question ranging from favorite fishing spots to a look behind the scenes at the fly-fishing industry.
