Thanks my friend. Soon I'll have the time to read you articles more often. Looking forward to that. BTW, Nina Burleigh is a friend, I had a small part in her fly fishing education.... ;-)
Amen. One of these days I'll start following that advice all year long, not just during turkey season, gun deer season, and Jan/Feb rabbit season. I've got a bunch of outings planned for the next four months, some of them pretty far-flung, but they are all locked into my calendar, so in important ways they don't feel like "sovereignty over my own time." I will, however, enjoy the heck out of them!
Love this essay Tom. Looking forward to cooler temps, cooler waters and some time on the water with you my friend
You and me both brudah
I carried that same title for 27 years at a great personal cost and I have never regretted leaving it behind. Congratulations.
Thanks Jim. I'm confident I won't miss it.

Congrats on your new status.
Thank you, good sir.
Yes. Let the river be your calendar.
"Unproductive" is a moniker *others* put on our time. Basically, "do more for me", instead of going fishing.
We give up our time sovereignty with jobs, bills and people who have expectations about us, whether warranted or not.
Isn't it though. Sovereignty of time has been so much more precious at this point.

If we have "obligations" at least those we enjoy are not so bad. See ya in Madison, an enjoyable obligation for sure.
